The group leader, Theodoros Zachariadis, is an Associate Professor at the Cyprus University of Technology, teaching environmental economics and energy resource management, and a Dean of the University's Faculty of Geotechnical Sciences and Environmental Management. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He has worked as a researcher at the National Technical University of Athens and as a European Marie Curie Fellow at the Economics Research Centre (ERC) of the University of Cyprus. He is currently an academic fellow at ERC and an advisor to the Cypriot Ministries of Finance and Energy on long-term energy planning and economic aspects of climate change. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency andan associate editor of the international Journal ‘Energy Economics’. In the recent past he has served as a national representative of Cyprus for the theme ‘Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials’ in the European Union’s ‘Horizon 2020’ programme, at the Standing Committee for Life, Earth and Environmental Sciences of the European Science Foundation and at the Domain Committee on Transport and Urban Development of the European COST programme. He is the recipient of the 2009 Research Prize of the Republic of Cyprus.

Christos Zoumides, PhD in environmental management - the first doctoral graduate of 3EP-CUT, an expert on water management and policy - currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Cyprus Institute;
Adamos Adamou, PhD in Economics, with an interest in environmental taxation in the European car market and its effect on the economy;
Elena Kettteni, PhD in Economics, an expert on productivity analysis who helped analyse the competitiveness impact of the EU energy and climate policy on Cyprus;
Vassiliki Voulgari, Dipl-Ing. (M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering, an expert on energy simulations and energy efficient design of buildings;
Michalis Michael, MSc in Energy Resource Management, who contributed to the development of the first energy demand forecast model of Cyprus.
